Guidance

Our Guidance Department, as part of Student Support Services, has one primary goal: to provide supports to students with their educational needs.

Support is provided in the following three areas:

  • academic counselling (program placement, course choices, credits required for graduation, tutoring, study skills and work habits, attendance, referrals for testing)
  • career counselling (assist in career and education path determination, provide direction for post-secondary options – employment and education, support career development, support for scholarships and bursaries)
  • personal counselling (assist students in managing their personal situations, facilitate access to outside counselling agencies, faith support and grief counselling)

Guided Study Room

The Guided Study Room offers the opportunity for one-to-one instruction to supplement classroom learning.  Students may drop in for one time visits for assistance with a particular assignment, or students may be referred to the Help room for one or more periods a day for continued support in their courses.
