Cancer is a word that strikes strong emotions from nearly everyone. Every September, St. Paul’s School in Yorkton participates in the Terry Fox Run and raises money to do our part to aid in cancer research. At the start of the fundraising campaign, students were challenged to beat our total from last year by raising $6 per student. In order to reach this, our school community gave generously through pledges, the school participated in a gum and hat day, and the Grade Seven class had five boys shave their heads and two girls dye their hair all to raise funds for our goal. Through the efforts of our students, staff, and community, St. Paul’s not only reached their goal of $6 per student but achieved an amazing $11 per student, giving our school a total of $2 671 raised for cancer research this year!
