CATHOLIC SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCILS

Christ the Teacher Catholic Schools believes parental involvement is essential in education, and that parents are the primary educators of children. Catholic Schools are an extension of the families that they serve.  Parents are welcome to participate in Catholic education as active members of a  School Community Council (SCC).

School Community Councils are school level advisory bodies required by provincial legislation in every school.  SSCs are comprised of elected and appointed members from a community who work to develop shared responsibility for the learning success and well-being of all children and youth within their schools and community.  SSCs also encourage and facilitate parent and community engagement.

Further information and documents related to School Community Councils may be found at the Ministry of Education's School Community Councils (SCCs) Support Center.

The Saskatchewan School Boards Association website provides links to a variety of additional resources for School Community Councils.
