  • This award is awarded every year at the June Awards Ceremony.
  • Every Phys Ed. teacher, extra-curricular coach and intramural supervisor are eligible to nominate athletes for this award and are eligible to vote.
  • These people are asked to take into account six criteria which are weighed in order of importance when selecting student nominees. Some of the criteria however don’t apply to certain people who are eligible to vote. (See the eligible people written in bold for each criteria below)

  • Each criteria have indicators which are each weighed out of a possible 5 points. The criteria and their indicators are as follows:

    • Criteria 1: Character & Conduct on & off the playing field: (out of a possible 25 points) (coaches only)

      • Treats teammates with respect

      • Is punctual

      • Is coachable

      • Shows commitment

      • Shows sportsmanship

    • Criteria 2: Athletic performance: (out of a possible 20 points) (coaches only)

      • Gives his/her maximal effort

      • Contribution to team’s accomplishment

      • Athleticism

      • Perseverance

    • Criteria 3: Sportsmanship in Phys. Ed: (out of a possible 15 points) (Phys Ed. Teachers only)

      • Eagerness

      • Punctuality

      • Dedication/Commitment

    • Criteria 4: Sportsmanship in Intramurals: (out of a possible 10 points) (Intramural supervisors only)

      • Participation

      • Attitude

    • Criteria 5: Number of sports played: (out of a possible 5 points) (Coaches only)

      • Minimum of 3

    • Criteria 6: Academic Responsibility: (out of a possible 5 points) (Teachers only)

      • Remits assignments punctually and conscientiously
